NEW DELHI (Reuters) - The government said on Friday it will seek parliamentary approval to spend an extra 317.8 billion rupees ($6.94 billion) for the fiscal year to end-March 2010, which it plans to fund through savings.
Of the total spending, 120 billion rupees would be spent on oil subsidy, 80 billion rupees on fertiliser subsidy and 24.59 billion rupees on food subsidy, among others.
The government also sought parliament's nod for 13.67 trillion rupees for debt repayment in 2009/10.
